One of the best ways to connect with your audience is by allowing them to get to know the face behind your business. We've all heard that potential clients are more likely to invest in your products and services if they know, like and trust you. Building content that pairs authentic images with relatable stories is one of the best ways to create a community of followers who truly value what you have to offer. Tips to make the most out of your brand session:
What's Your Style
When showcasing your business, what kind of style or mood are you hoping to portray?
The clothes you choose, the location of the session, the lighting, the angles and the posing can all play a part in creating unforgettable images.
Are you professional and sophisticated, fresh and active, soft and feminine, or is your style bright and bold? Planning your photoshoot with your style and personality in mind will help keep your photos authentic and craft images that tell stories in the images created.

Wear What Makes You Feel Good
When deciding what to wear, choose outfits that make you feel good. If you're uncomfortable with what you're wearing, it can come across in your photos.
Wear layers or bring jackets, sweaters, scarves, and other accessories to help change up your look without taking up too much time away from your shoot.
Bring Props
A common question people have is what they do with their hands. Bringing along anything you use regularly in your business will not only give your hands something to do, but it will also help give your photos more variety and create engaging images to help share stories about your business. Laptops, cameras, paintbrushes, scissors, books, daily planners, your favourite books or coffee mug are some great props.
Have a Plan for Your Photos
There are a variety of ways to use the images from a branding session. It makes a difference in how we capture the images.
Here are a few things to consider:
Are you planning on using your images on your website?
Do you need negative space in your image to add text or logos for social media?
Will these images be used in hard copy marketing materials like business cards, newspaper ads or postcards?
Knowing how you want to use the images, even if it's all of the above, will help to create a gallery of images that can help to effectively market your business.
Set Yourself Up for Success
Preparation is key to a successful brand session. By strategically incorporating your personality and style into your session, you'll showcase what makes your business amazing and help you stand out from the crowd.
